best springfield 1911

Best Springfield 1911 - The 1911 has been a legend for over a century now. Everyone loves its smooth, consistent break and linear pull that follow the 1911 trigger. The result is usually more than 4.5 pounds. It can be reduced up to 5 pounds or if desired. I'll bet right now that you get that same "broken glass" feeling when you drop the hammer, even if you don't have your Springfield 1911 in your hand.

The new Springfield Armory Operator in .45 ACP incorporates the features the author looks for in a 1911-style pistol.

A 1911 has a lot, as owners, we always want all the options — and we want to pay for them. Springfield did it with a new operator. Not only does it come with a great price tag, but it is also loaded with options. This new operator has a variety of ammo; I put it to test the chronograph and had a lot of fun at the range.

This new offering includes duty belt and model shooting, training and reloading exercises which are included to get a better experience for this new offering. It was also tested with different light brands and magazine brands.

The drive is great as always, with the feel and look we want. It has a skeletal profile consistent with a skeletal hammer. Drag is consistent; Very short and very sharp.

The low-key black Cerakote finish on the forged slide and frame contrasts nicely with the forged stainless steel match barrel. If we proceed from the magwell to the muzzle; We can see a smooth custom grip panel with a rough but flawless texture. Grips are made from VZ grips and machined from G10. VZ Grips is the same company that makes the highly regarded Emissary Grip.

Cheap 1911 Vs. Expensive 1911: Which Pistol Is Better?

Take a closer look at the grip style of this gun. You can see how the operator actually locks.

The same design surrounds the spine and provides maximum grip and back control even when used with one hand. We also have two-way security controls to ensure positive engagement and publish our standard magazine edition in linear format. As we've come to expect from a Springfield 1911, the extended beavertail grip safety provides excellent shape and positive control. It has a "memory bump" to ensure positive engagement.

The slide has front and rear sights and tactical rack sights. Sights are three-dot style, tritium in front and a tactical rack in back with a shelf for a one-handed drill. If you're not sure how this works, let me explain. In the one-handed tester, you can use the notch on the back to clear bugs, or push the hard screen and slider to restart. Completing you get eight-round Mech-Gar magazines in glossy black.

Officer's Model: Best Gun For Concealed Carry?

With many 1911 pistols today, a tool is required to disassemble the pistol for cleaning. It goes back to the old-school, classic and proven barrel design that allows the operator to unload the pistol without any tools.

Not only is the operator pretty, but those .45-caliber slugs pack a lot of power. Difficult to defend.

The barrel bushing can be easily removed by depressing the nicely formed recoil spring plug and rotating the bushing to clear it. The rest are characteristic of the Springfield 1911 full-size pistols.

For testing, I used the Hornady Critical Defense 185-g. FTX ammo at 25 yards while tracking velocity. with an average velocity of 1,065 fps; The Hornady critical defenses I've tested seem to be quite capable. I'm not the best or worst shot in the accuracy test, but I'm happy with these results at 25 yards. Whenever we see the real-world results of a bullet on paper, we know that there is more to it than the shiny packaging and promises on the side of the cartridge box.

The group size is for a group of five shots; Measured from center to center. At 25 yards, he knelt on the table and fired. Velocity is the average of five shots on a Caldwell Precision Chronograph with a target 10' from the muzzle.

We've already talked about the impressive list of options that come with the new operator; My favorite part is the rails for lights and other equipment like lasers. But what about performance? Designed and equipped for truly tactical use, I decided to run it as a work pistol.

The fit is exactly what we've come to expect from a Springfield 1911. Ambi Safety works well for one-handed and hands-free exercise. Recoil control is excellent, with deep grooves on the grip and rear, combined with a wide beavertail for effective control. Front and rear serrations are easy to use when loading, unloading and dry practice. Accuracy of Hornady ammo is top notch. It had something to do with that match barrel and big ammunition.

When it comes to Springfield operators; I feel it at home. My first 1911 was a Springfield Armory and I still own it 20 years later. While the overall feel of a standard 1911 has always been comfortable for me, the aggressive handling style of this pistol keeps the grip in my hand pocket.

Rails have given me options, and having the ability to fire a pistol mount is something I'm always looking for. I also noticed the ease of action and controls. When you get this pistol, I felt like the slide was sliding on the ball without any interference or jamming. Controls were positive but also felt smooth during operation. To me these immediate details tell me the level of equipment and quality control at the Springfield factory.

Having carried a 1911 pistol on the job for many years, the details and options for pistols in general are valuable to me. The biggest risk for me with a new operator is that it is designed to be used for heavy duty. Strategic maneuvers from Springfield; I'm not sure who decided on included options like more meat on the spine or a more field-friendly breakdown, but they made the right choice.

Best Budget 1911s: Everything Around $500

So you're probably wondering, "How much is this going to cost me?" It looks expensive. The truth of the matter is that Springfield put together this package with the goal of adding usable options and keeping it as close to the $1,000 price point as possible. Yes, read that again. New Springfield Operator with rail front night sight Emby safety and that event barrel has an MSRP of $1,099. I feel like a winner.
