In my years of reading about the latest and greatest AR rifles, I've noticed that most, if not all, but most of the reviews, test-retests are done by talented people who haven't done it yet. They never used the skill. Yes, these supporting authors know what they are talking about and even own an AR rifle. Owning and shooting a gun is not the same as carrying around day after day to increase your chances of going home safely every night.

Many of my readers are American Heroes who have served or are serving their State, State, City, or Union. Most were issued with AR-type rifles. Many of them bring AR to work every day and are ready for it. Shooting at a paper and cicada target is not the same as shooting at a moving target that can and will return fire. There are many AR rifles in production today. But, for me, in my professional opinion for the money anyway, the new Ruger AR-556 MPR 8514 model is the rifle to buy. The Ruger MPR 8514 rifle is equipped with a Magpul® MOE® and MOE SL ip collapsible Mil-Spec scope. The 18-inch trigger is Magpul's 15-M-LOK® Free-Float. A 30-round 5.56 Magpul magazine comes standard with the rifle. I love the small profile of the Ruger MPR. The fuselage is made of aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum. The upper receiver includes a relay support, dust cover, and brass deflector. Additionally, the upper receiver is coated with a class III solid anodic coating for durability. I don't damage my guns and treat them as a tool, not a museum piece. For this reason, I like the "Type III" anodized coating because it has a scratch effect and does not stop protecting.

This Ruger AR MPR features a 9310 machine made and tested. The trigger is a two-stage Ruger Elite 452™ that offers a smooth and sharp 4.5 pounds. My test sample had an average pull of 4.3 pounds, which was very tight. Constantly power the hammer during the primer. I didn't feel any wear or feel after shooting 800. This light hammer makes it 30% faster than other standard MSR (Modern Sporting Rifle) forces. Gas OS as it makes shooting the Ruger MRP much easier and more efficient. Inexperienced shooters who tried the test model were surprised by the low recoil.
The selling point of the Ruger MPR 8514 model is 18 inches of 4140 chrome-moly steel that is cold hammer forged. The super-precision rifle has a 1:8 ratio that allows this rifle to accurately shoot bullet weights from 35 to 77. I fired 55 to 75 rounds in my test rounds and passed 3-inch groups at 100 yards. definitely a good group.
If you are someone who only needs a flashlight, laser, and other accessories attached to an AR, then the Ruger MPR Model 8514 is the rifle for you. Magpul® M-LOK® devices are located at the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 o'clock positions. For me, a low-power long-range or iron like the Leopold HOG draw on my model is ideal.
Chrome bolt with inner diameter and inner diameter chrome airlock provides exceptional resistance to hot gases. Throttle key is stacked so that it does not slow down after continuous firing. A matte black oxide coating on the outside of the bolt provides corrosion resistance. This Ruger model features a radial muzzle slide that greatly reduces muzzle recoil. At the end is a 1/2″-28″ header that allows custom mouthpieces like suppressors to be installed.
Best Scopes For Ruger Ar 556
When testing the Ruger MPR 8514, I used 0.223 Rem 75 gr, BTHP™ Hornady BLACK™ Game, Nosler 0.223 Rem 74 gr. and Browning .223 Rem BXV Expansion Varmint Expansion 50 gr. ring All shots fired were good. The measurement of each lap is within 3 inches per 100 meters.
After shooting 800 rounds in the Ruger Model MPR 8514, I had no problems. All ammo is fully loaded and in good working order. At 800 rounds, the scope heats up to 175 degrees, and the Magpul trigger measures 158 degrees, which is a bit hotter when done with bare hands. I used the standard Magpul 30 magazine that came with the gun for testing, and my favorite AR magazine is the Hexmag 30. I have found through testing, the Hexmag by far, performs better than any magazine I have tried. They are powerful and reliable with a unique color coding system.
