This year's show features the US Navy Blue Angels, as well as teams from the Air Force, Marine Corps and National Guard. "This is the first time in five years that we've had the Blue Angels back. So the whole base, the whole community is really excited and looking forward to a great show," said Todd Brummer, NAS JRB commanding officer. Naval Air Station In Belle Chasse Takes Security Precautions

The event is taking place at Naval Air Station Belle Chasse. It is free and there is no charge for parking. The event will take place at Naval Air Station Joint Base Reserve New Orleans, located in Belle Chasse, LA. Guests can come and experience some of America's finest aviators, both military and civilian, a static display of aircraft and other military equipment, a "Kids' Zone" and more. Parking and admission to the event is free, gates open at 8am and the show starts at 10am.

The US Navy Blue Angels will be welcomed back and the flight display team will fly six F/A-18 Hornets and a C-130 Hercules named Fat Albert. This high-performance display is sure to impress and shows the speed of the aircraft as well as the accuracy of the pilot and crew.

Brought together to represent the United States Navy and Marine Corps, this team combines the best and the brightest at the top of their craft. This team mission is more than a job for them. It's a passion and their camaraderie and chemistry ensures it.

An Eagle Named Opus: The Legend Of The Air Force's Most Notorious F 15

During their aerobatic display, the Blues Angels will fly six F/A-18 Hornet aircraft, divided into a diamond formation (Blue Angels 1 through 4) and solo lead and adversaries (Blue Angels 5 and 6). Much of the show alternates between diamond formations and maneuvers performed by soloists. Integrated avionics, along with enhanced support capabilities, represent an exponential leap in combat capabilities.

Other military groups on display will include the F-16 Demo Team, VFA-204 F-18, Louisiana Air National Guard F-15, Naval Air/Ground Task Force Demonstration, Coast Guard SAR Demons and Black Daggers.

There are also some exciting civic functions. Rob Reeder, one of the most sought-after announcers on the North American air show circuit, will emcee the show. As a former Midwest television personality, Rader has received five Emmy Awards for his on-air shows and musical compositions. It has also won the International Air Show Council's Sword of Excellence Award, the air show industry's highest award.

Some of the civilian displays will include the North American Aviation P-51 Fast Silver Mustang, flown by Scott "Scooter" Yoke. This American-made aircraft was primarily used during World War II and the mission of the Fast Silver Flight Team is to honor and pay tribute to the thousands of veterans who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and safety of others.

The Redline Airshow and Adam Baker Airshow will be the two airshows. The Redline Airshow is an exciting formation of an aerobatic flight team that thrills crowds with displays of nerve, skill and craftsmanship. The unique Adam Baker Airshow team is known for their colorful aircraft schemes and personalities to match. The 12-minute aerial display will be a combination of clear competition-style moves and powerful gyroscopic spins and will reach speeds of 270 miles per hour.

Shockwave and Flash Fire Jet Trucks will also be present. This custom-built race truck is equipped to handle speeds of up to 350 miles per hour and is an assault on the senses, with huge flames coming out of the three afterburner engines and smoke stacks with deafening noise and speed. It flies airplanes at air shows throughout North America.

Pilot Jessie Panzer is honored to fly her two Pitts Special airplanes and have another opportunity to share her passion for flying with air show fans across the country. Panzer began flying at age 18 and earned an aeronautical science degree at Embry-Riddle University in Prescott, Arizona. He is a certified flight instructor in airplanes, rotorcraft and seaplanes. She has spent her career as a corporate pilot while still actively pursuing her passion for aerobatics and flying sport planes.
